3. Estimates & Pricing
Free Estimates Meyers Electric provides free, no-obligation estimates for most projects. Estimates are based on the information available at the time of the assessment and the scope of work discussed. All estimates include a clear breakdown of labor, materials, and expected timelines before work begins.
Estimate Validity Written estimates are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise noted. Material costs and availability may change, and estimates provided outside this period may require revision.
Changes to Scope If unforeseen conditions are discovered during the course of work — including hidden wiring damage, code violations not visible during initial assessment, structural obstacles, or subsurface conditions during trenching — Meyers Electric will notify the Customer before proceeding. Any additional work required will be quoted and authorized in writing or verbally before being performed.
Transparent Pricing We do not charge hidden fees. All pricing is disclosed upfront. Customers will not be billed for work that was not authorized. Emergency service calls and after-hours responses may carry applicable service call or overtime fees, which will be communicated when service is scheduled.
4. Payment Terms
Residential & Small Commercial Payment is due upon completion of work unless a financing arrangement or alternate payment schedule has been agreed upon in writing prior to the start of the project.
Large Commercial, Industrial & Municipal Projects For larger projects, Meyers Electric may require a deposit prior to mobilization. Progress billing and milestone-based payment schedules may apply and will be specified in the project proposal or contract.
Accepted Payment Methods We accept cash, check, major credit cards, and financing through our approved lending partners. Checks returned due to insufficient funds are subject to a returned check fee in addition to applicable bank charges.
Late Payments Invoices unpaid after 30 days from the date of issue are subject to a monthly finance charge of 1.5% on the outstanding balance, or the maximum rate permitted by Wisconsin law, whichever is less. Meyers Electric reserves the right to pursue collection of past-due amounts, including reasonable attorney’s fees and court costs where permitted.
Liens Meyers Electric reserves the right to file a mechanic’s lien against the subject property for unpaid services, in accordance with Wisconsin Statutes Chapter 779, where applicable.
5. Scheduling & Access
Customers are responsible for ensuring that Meyers Electric personnel have safe and unobstructed access to the work area on the scheduled date and time. Failure to provide access may result in a service call fee and rescheduling.
We will make every reasonable effort to adhere to scheduled appointment times. However, completion of a prior job, weather conditions, or emergency calls may cause delays. We will notify you as soon as practicable if a significant schedule change is anticipated.
For jobs requiring permits, the Customer is responsible for ensuring the work site is accessible for required inspections by the appropriate municipal or county authority. Meyers Electric will coordinate permitting and inspection scheduling on the Customer’s behalf where applicable.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a scheduling fee, particularly for jobs requiring specialized equipment such as bucket trucks or trenching machinery.
6. Licensing & Insurance
Meyers Electric is a fully licensed and insured electrical contractor operating in the State of Wisconsin. All electrical work is performed by licensed electricians in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable Wisconsin state and local codes.
We carry comprehensive general liability insurance and workers’ compensation insurance covering all employees working on your property. Certificates of insurance are available upon request for commercial, industrial, and public works customers.
Customers are encouraged to verify that any contractor performing work on their property — whether hired by Meyers Electric as a subcontractor or hired separately — is properly licensed and insured. Meyers Electric is not responsible for the acts of contractors not hired directly by us.
7. Workmanship Warranty
Meyers Electric warrants all labor and workmanship against defects for a period of one (1) year from the date of project completion, under normal use and conditions. If a defect in workmanship is identified within the warranty period, we will remedy the issue at no additional labor charge to the Customer.
Manufacturer Warranties Equipment, fixtures, panels, and materials installed by Meyers Electric are covered by the respective manufacturer’s warranty. Meyers Electric will assist in coordinating manufacturer warranty claims but is not responsible for defects in materials beyond our workmanship warranty.

- Damage caused by misuse, abuse, unauthorized modifications, or work performed by others after our installation.
- Normal wear and tear.
- Damage caused by acts of God, including lightning strikes, floods, or severe weather.
- Issues arising from existing conditions not corrected as part of the original scope of work.
- Equipment or materials supplied by the Customer.
Warranty service requests must be submitted by contacting Meyers Electric at (715) 234-3901 or visiting our office at 900 Lindy Street, Rice Lake, WI 54868.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Wisconsin law, Meyers Electric’s total liability for any claim arising from services rendered shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Customer for the specific services giving rise to the claim.
Meyers Electric shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, punitive, or special damages, including lost profits, loss of business, equipment downtime, or data loss, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
We are not liable for damage to pre-existing conditions, including but not limited to: deteriorated wiring, concealed structural defects, undisclosed hazardous materials, or unmarked underground utilities not identified through the required Diggers Hotline locate process.
Customers are responsible for contacting Diggers Hotline (811) at least three business days prior to any excavation or trenching project. Meyers Electric will assist in coordinating locates but is not liable for damage to utilities that were not properly identified or marked by the relevant utility provider.
9. Customer Responsibilities
To ensure safe and efficient service, Customers agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information about the electrical system, property, and any known hazards prior to the start of work.
- Disclose any known presence of asbestos, lead paint, mold, or other hazardous materials on the property.
- Ensure a safe working environment, including adequate lighting, clear access pathways, and appropriate temperature conditions within work areas.
- Secure pets and notify occupants of scheduled electrical work that may temporarily interrupt power or require access to multiple areas.
- Obtain any required permits, easements, or neighbor approvals not handled by Meyers Electric unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Provide accurate billing and contact information.
- Review and sign work orders or change orders before additional work outside the original estimate begins.
Customers who provide materially inaccurate information that affects the scope, cost, or safety of a project may be responsible for any resulting cost overruns or corrective work.
10. Generator Services & Meyers PowerGuard™
Meyers Electric is an authorized Cummins generator dealer and installer. All generator installations are performed by licensed electricians and are subject to applicable permitting and inspection requirements.
Installation Generator installations include load assessment, system sizing, fuel system coordination, permitting, installation, and commissioning. Final system performance depends on correct load calculations and the Customer’s cooperation in disclosing all relevant electrical loads and usage patterns during the design phase.
Meyers PowerGuard™ Maintenance Plan Enrollment in the Meyers PowerGuard™ Generator Care Plan is subject to a separate service agreement. PowerGuard provides annual inspection, performance testing, preventive maintenance, and priority outage response for enrolled standby generator systems. PowerGuard coverage is specific to the enrolled generator system and does not transfer to new equipment without a new enrollment. Meyers Electric reserves the right to modify service plan terms upon written notice to enrolled Customers.
Generator Manufacturer Warranty Cummins generator equipment is covered by the manufacturer’s limited warranty. Maintaining generator service records and adhering to recommended maintenance intervals may be required to preserve manufacturer warranty coverage. Customers who decline maintenance service do so at their own risk.
11. Financing
Meyers Electric offers financing options for qualifying residential electrical projects through third-party lending partners. Financing is subject to credit approval by the applicable lender. Meyers Electric is not a lender and does not make credit decisions.
Financing terms, interest rates, and repayment schedules are governed by the agreement between the Customer and the financing provider. Customers should review all financing documents carefully before signing. Meyers Electric does not receive compensation from financing providers that would influence our service recommendations.
Financing availability does not alter payment obligations owed to Meyers Electric. If a financing arrangement is approved and Meyers Electric completes the work, the Customer remains responsible for full payment of the project cost per the financing agreement, regardless of any dispute with the lender.
Rebate and incentive guidance provided by Meyers Electric is informational only. Eligibility for utility rebates or government incentives is determined by the applicable program administrator, not by Meyers Electric.

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
